art homework and school update

dreamlingwoo, worked all weekend on my design fundementals homework, I had to come up with three animal concepts made out of basic shapes, mine were a fish, a stingray and a bat hanging upside down with one wing out. Literally took me all weekend, I needed 30 prelim thumbnails for each, one final plan drawing for each concept and one total inked one, I'll try to scan in the one I inked, I'm pretty proud of my sting ray.
Happy though, before the work began again this morning, my husband helped me dye my hair, it's dark red now, woo, what a change from the light auburn I had this morning. I hope its not too extreme for work, but, oh well. Now, if I could only get my bangs cut, and ends trimmed.
And yah! we have groceries in the house, so nice to have things in our cupboards again.
Been meaning to write, really. Caught in a cycle of Work, School, homework and sleep. Soon I'll be adding packing and moving to that.
Still, it feels soo good to be taking art courses, nice to be in school again. After the first week my stomach has adjusted to a brief supper as well, making me not so out of it during class.
I love my drawing fundamentals course, the one I share with friend Maciek, it's great to have an amigo in the course, and the course is so much fun, we started using colerase last thursday for our underdrawings, soft charcoal pencils now, instead of sticks. Very cool. I can just feel myself learning, soaking up ideas, and my hands are learning how to move differently when I draw. I can't wait to see how I improve by the end of the semester. Most importantly, I can tell I'm beginning to see things with an artist's eye, breaking things down instead of just contourizing it. The teacher thinks that Maciek and I could handle figure drawing, if we wanted to crash some sessions happening downtowne at the UW. I'd love to do some figure drawing, I'll have to learn when it is, and see if I can slot in some time.
My boss at work thinks I'm a crazy girl for taking both courses after work, and I most likely am, but she's supportive, and we might be able to get work to pay for some of the courses, as it does impact/relate to my job as a web designer there. (a designer who does a whole lot of development).
I know I'm all over the place with this post, but lots of little things needed to be posted, and all the other things I was thinking about posting kinda slipped my brain.

This is a really awesome link to letters from a female astronaut who is currently on the International Space station, she talks about her daily life there, food, sleep, exercise, experiments, space walking, and answers questions from children all over I guess. Very cool, very so much like sci-fi. The link takes you to the latest entry, but it's more fun to use the pull-down and start from letter one. She is quite intelligent, and has an excellent written voice, much recommended read.

Um, what else, oh, Laptop is back, still waiting for it's name to come to me, it hasn't been home long enough to have one, but it's such bliss to have the laptop back and connected.
