Matrix Impressions (No spoilers)

dreamlingI had a good time at the movie last night. It entertained me, there were lots of pretty moments, and some kick butt moments.
To me it felt like a lot of little stories all pulled together. Some parts were more polished than others, some were likely unnecessary, any which way, I enjoyed it.
I liked it better than the last star wars movie, but not nearly as much as X2.
But one thing I'm realizing, and I was never a fanatic of the first movie... is that I'm really starting to dig the whole franchise. I really like the bits of animatrix I've seen, the backstory, ect, and I'm going to give that Enter the Matrix game a shot, because we rented it, and I can play a woman.
I don't feel like I wasted my 8 bucks, I didn't go home unhappy, but then, I didn't go in with many preconceived ideas either. I'm sure I could sit down and pick at a lot of things, but I wont do that, for now, I enjoyed the show.
There was a Tae-Kwon-Do troup at our showing, doing a little demo, which made waiting for the movie to start pretty easy. Very cool.
And we got to do a scantron survey about the movie, I like taking survey's being part of the system. I'm not sure how professional these independent pollers were though, they did a headcount by hand, with pencil and paper, instead of a little clicker or some other digital device. I'm sure it works, but it's not very sophisticated. OTOH it makes it more obvious that they are, indeed, independent.
In our showing no-one dressed up... perhaps you have to be really athletic to wear vinyl to a showing...
Oh, and on the way home we caught the lunar eclipse. I called my parents to make sure they were watchin it. They have binoculars, I remembered this morning, and wished I had some or a telescope, or even a tripod for my camera. But, I got to see it, and didn't forget or sleep through it. very cool.
