a long weekend not wasted

I haven't had a long relaxing weekend in some time.

I role-played till late in two games.(forgotten realms/call of cthulu)
I finished two xbox games (syberia 2/jade empire)
Spent a good deal of friday and saturday with my parents.
Saturday cookout over at Mom's, with grandparents, husband, and brother.

Watched two enjoyable movies(Emma/Hero)

yesterday, for the first time in months, I felt truly relaxed. I wish I could feel that way more often.

oh yes, did some art as well. finished the metahari picture, worked on my art trade(inking soon) and drew my character from the CoC game, Jinx Pickman (inked and markered! fun!)

how was syberia 2 . . .?
i've been putting it off.

I liked it. I mean, it's really just the second part of syberia, and feels shorter, but if you like adventure games, it was nice. I may be at a disadvantage, because I like adventure games, I give them more slack than say, action-rpg-shooter games.

My favorite adventure game is still The Longest Journey. I loved that one. There is a sequel coming out, but unless it goes to a console, or mac, I won't be able to play. :( And it seems right up my alley.

Beyond Good and Evil is really nice too and pretty. Much easier to play than syberia 2 (I think, mostly due to controls, and it's not all pre-rendered backgrounds)

I'm working on another one, Broken Sword: The Sleeping Dragon, which is a pc-xbox port, and pretty cool. Lots of noir voiceovers. 'I thought about leaving the street' (you cancel the menu) 'but I decided to stick around for a while' or (you choose an option) 'and I decided to head on home.' And one of the characters has a sweet french accent. The game is fun, though they obviously didn't optimize for the console, it has these stupid loading screens that take about 40seconds, which is dumb, because it just doesn't seem likely that the computer needs to preload that much for an adventure game.

Ah, the lazy weekend of slobbery! truly the greatest of all weekends. Doing things and going places is for fools. Weekends are for doing nothing... and long may they continue!
