goings ons
Aug. 21st, 2006 11:59 pmI'm sick, sickity sick. Also, I am tired of being sick. I've been sick for a week, and each time I think I'm getting better, I get an extra symptom. I'll spare you the progression...
I had to reschedule an interview I was supposed to do today for next week. :P
Even though I was sick, I did make it out to the cornfest yesterday. It was a big day, my bro and his wife were finally meeting my mom's new boyfriend.
I'm happy she's found someone to be sweet on, and he's a really nice guy. I want her to be happy. It's a tad bit odd to see her hold hands with someone other than my father, strange, but not painful.
The sweetcorn cob I had was very nice, though I wish I could have smelled it better. We were also seated on a blanket at a steep angle, so trying to breathe, eat corn, and not slide down into the next set of people on the hill took some doing. After a couple hourses of that, and a rootbeer float, we walked back to grandma's house for some crackers and cheese.
Then I was more than tuckered out, which was too bad too, because yesterday was Frank's birthday and there was a cookout that I just couldn't muster up the energy or stock enough tissues to take myself out in public again.
In other birthday news, I'll be turning 28 on thursday. How in the world did august go by so quickly.
Happily, I'm far more elated about having a birthday this year. Last year it was far too much emotional effort after dad passed.
ok, time to let the nyquil kick in, and to watch piratesof penzance on tv.
