The Great Recap of 2009
Dec. 31st, 2009 05:06 pm2009 feels like more than one year.
Lost my job, got divorced, sold my house, moved into Madison proper.
I love, love living close to downtown, I've made it to lots of shows and get togethers, and dates and parties.
The job situation hasn't gotten better, but I think that things will pick up here after people get back to the offices in the new year. I've done some editing, hope to do a lot more next year.
I was looking back on some posts pre divorce, and was astounded not to feel the rage and fear I was feeling when I wrote them, also, feeling very little sadness from the posts themselves. I'm still grieving though, a little bit. The holidays brought a bit of that intense sadness back, nostalgia not for the emotionak abuse, of course, but for the friendship, and perhaps even my misplaced belief in a lot that was as real and solid as the mountains.
I don't understand why the storm happened, or why the flood came and washed it all away, but I've kept my head above water in 2009, and I'm a much stronger, better woman than I was before.
