made it to VA yesterday. my flight sunday night was cancelled, after I'd sat in the airport about 4 hours. So, I was up at 3:20 yesterday to check in at 4:15 and fly out at 5:30, and made my flight into Roanoak, arriving around 10:30.

Visitation from noon till four was about all I could handle, though there was even more visitation from from six till eight or so.

Funeral is at two today.

The community down here has shown our family how much my uncle Steve has been loved. He's coached at the middle and high schools for years, and seems like he's know just about everyone around here. There was a constant stream of people coming through to see him.

It's all very sad. But it is nice to be surrounded by so many of my aunts, uncles and cousins.


this hotel has free internet, but it's a bit wonky on the wireless, not sure if i'll be on again tonight.
