Yesterday I took off of work and had an Art Day!!
I spent most of the day reworking my thumbnail for page 9, and getting the panels set up. It always amazes me how long this takes.
I hit up the mall, around 7ish to spend some of my certificates from my birthday. I had a Bath and Body Works and one from WaldenBooks. I got lots of manga and some really nice jasmine/vanilla lotion.
Then, I headed over to
smuga's and we all got a surprising amount of comicking done. I have the pencils for about 3/4 done for page 9, and they put up a new page of BYOB on the website. Kim finished the lettering for that BYOB page and then coloring her cover with some copics, and started penciling her next page in Merylion factor!
Speaking of Copics! My mother in law's gift of cash bought me 4! count em, 4 cool grey copics of my very own. So much fun to use! I'm so excited about having them, and they work just fine on the paper in my sketchbook. They don't really bleed through, so that means I can try to marker render some of my sketches there, which will make things look more finished, and perhaps make some sketches candidates for portfolio.
