Let me recap for those of you who have been following along.

I don't pre-order my Harry Potter book, and when I call the store on Friday, they tell me not to bother coming by on the first day to get it. In a frenzy I order it off Amazon.com, and opt for the free shipping. (which may be the most important issue I messed up on.) I also added an Amelie CD for kicks, and to secure the free shipping.
Delivery is set for around the 25th.

Saturday I notice that I have an order which requires my attention on Amazon. I login and note they need a different credit card, as they are using one that I haven't used in about a year. I fail to notice else something very important, at a time I could still change it.
This little change Saturday afternoon kicks my delivery back to July 3rd-10th.

Sunday night I am checking to see if my packages have started their little journey and notice the very important thing I missed before. They were sending it to my old address, which is only about 20 miles away from my new address. I do what I can, call the old apartment complex and they say they will watch for it and give me a call when it gets into town.

I follow the tracking number on the USPS website, which gives me poor information because I'm not shipping certified, meaning, I get information on where the package about 8 hours after it's passed through someplace. Still, the packages make it to the Madison depot last weekend, and I am full of hope and joy and laughter, for their journey must be over soon.

Monday I notice the packages are being forwarded, YAH! they must be on their way to me, right?

Today I check their status, to find that my Harry Potter Book is IN OHIO!!!!!

My local post office doesn't know why the central office would have put it back into freight like that, and has me call them. He also mentions my Amelie CD is there as well. I talk to the guy apparently responsible for my old area code, and he seems just as confused about the situation. He checks and sees my forward card should still be forwarding my mail to my new place, being less than 12 months from our move. Then he wonders if perhaps something on the package prevents it from being forwarded the 20 last miles it needs to reach my loving arms.

Does he know if I'll get my package? No. Is there anyway to make sure it gets sent here? He doesn't know. He wants me to call the lady in charge of the carrier tomorrow around 8-9, and see if she has any more information.

So now, I have no ETA, nothing! And I won't have my book over the holiday weekend, either :(

The additional kicker is, if it does get back to me, It'll likely be postage due.
