Standing Vigil curious_spider One of the foxes – the father (or “dog,” as I believe the males are called) bopping up to our actual lawn, standing amidst the wild violets and just watching stuff, like a COOL DAD. Give him a pair of sunglasses. Ray-Bans.April 24, 2019 at 07:39AM https://flic.kr/p/2efY9LD

Edward Everard’s Printing Works, Bristol Richard

via http://bit.ly/2GC0JE7

Edward Everard’s Printing Works, Bristol Richard and Gill Edward Everard’s Printing Works in Broad Street, Bristol was built in 1900. The Pre-Raphaelite style facade was designed by WJ Neatby, the chief designer for Doulton and Co. Much of the detail of the finished building stemmed from Everard’s own ideas. He was a great admirer of William Morris, the founder of the Arts and Crafts movement - and Morris is depicted on the right hand side of the facade with his print style. The Spirit of Literature is represented in the centre and on the left hand side is Gutenberg. Everard’s name is depicted in the Art Nouveau typeface he designed.

The printing works ran from Broad Street to Little John Street behind. Most of the building was demolished in 1970 but the facade was preserved as it is the largest decorative facade of its kind in Britain. It has been designated by English Heritage as a grade II listed building.

via https://ift.tt/2HP9Bbz

inspired Amy Rice I found a photo on Pinterest of a Ukrainian Babushka printing textiles and I joked it was me as an old lady. But then I really looked at it and became inspired. The geometry of the circular pattern and the pulling together of separate print blocks to make a whole really fired me up. I made a plan Thursday night, bought materials Friday (including tools for doing math) and spent 20 plus hours over the course of the weekend and today cutting and carving. Just before the sun set I got to make a few test prints. Now I can rest.

Ah, it's early, and I need to get going, it's been a long week.

I was able to get the flash done for a tv commercial!
I was able to repurpose that flash as an intro to a website.
I was able to launch the reveal for the teaser site I did before.

and! flickr has added collections!

Go ahead, check out a ton of our convention pics! All nicely organized now.
